Smashed Broccoli with Chili Crisp, Scallions, and Sesame Seeds!! Like smashed potatoes, but with broccoli!!! I saw @avocado_skillet make smashed broccoli and I was inspired by her recipe!!!

They may not be the most photogenic, but OOF were they good! The way they get all crispy…. if you even remotely like broccoli, this might become your new favorite way to prepare it.

RECIPE (serves 2-4)
2 large heads of broccoli (or 4 small ones)
Olive oil
Salt & pepper
Chili crisp (I used @flybyjing)
2 scallion stalks, thinly sliced
Sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 425 F. Cut off the broccoli stems, and break into small florets. Bring a pot of water to boil, and add the broccoli. Boil 3-5 minutes or until broccoli is tender but not too soft.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the boiled and drained broccoli and spread it evenly in a single layer on the baking sheet. Smash each broccoli floret with the bottom of a glass. Drizzle with olive oil and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Bake for 25-40 minutes depending on your oven or until broccoli gets nice and brown and crispy.

Top with a drizzle of chili crisp, chopped scallions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds!
