Welcome to my series “Controversial Toasts” where I use ingredients that people either really love or really hate 😝This week we’re starting off with cottage cheese, which I feel like should hardly be considered controversial, but it’s got a lot of haters!!

I’ve been eating cottage cheese since childhood and always felt like it didn’t deserve its bad rap. Treat it like burrata or ricotta and the world is your oyster (plus its high in protein, so its nutritious too, hell ya)! I love making savory cottage cheese bowls, mixing into eggs or pasta, and of course, spreading it on toast!! My favorite brands are @nancysyogurt and @good_culture, which I used here!

This week’s toast is cottage cheese with lemon zest, sliced avocado, honey, smoked red pepper flakes, and flake salt. Shoutout to @toastedtable for reminding me that cottage cheese absolutely belongs on toast (she has a lot of great cottage cheese recipes you should check out too!!!)
